Today, something very embarassing thing happened. Sheeesh! A lesson well learned.
I was trying out my new pair of daily disposable contact lens that i bought the other day. 10 pieces for $15. (no need to buy those boxes as they are quite a lot. that's what i was thinking)
Anyway, as a first time user, i managed to pick up my courage to poke my fingers to my eyeball. Really need a lot of courage as all this while I had fear of touching my eyeballs.
Ok, putting it on was not that bad after all. But somehow, I felt abit giddy after wearing the contact lens. It's like u wore a much higher power kind of spectacles that make u feeling abit nauseous.
Then here's where the most valuable lesson i've learnt. Since I was feeling not very comfortable with the lenses, I tried to remove it. But then, I couldn't remove it. I could not see where the lenses are. So i pushed and pushed to try and remove it. And my eye started to twitch. From my single eyelid to double eyelid. Panic! Something was wrong already. I thought the lens was moving to the eyelid already. PANIC PANIC! And i was late for my violin lesson :(
Without second thought, I went to the nearest optical shop to ask them to help me remove it. Sigh. There was a lot of customer there and the optometrist was busy attending them. Finally when it was my turn, she open my left eyelid and keep checking where is the lens. And she also couldn't find it. She asked me what contact lenses was i using. I replied "focus daily". then she said, "HAH?! First time users not supposed to use that brand! It's difficult for them to remove it" then i was like "uh oh!"
After that she had a thorough search, she said the lens is not at the lid there. Maybe dropped off already. Erm... I don't remember it was dropped off. So i asked her to help me remove the right eyes' contact lens. So she helped me removed it. Hey! after removing it, my eyesight is still okay. So i asked her to help me check my left eye again whether the lens was at the eyeball there. and there it was! She helped me remove it also. What a relief! My blur eyesight is back! Thank god my eyes are okay!
After this incident, never will i ever wear contact lens anymore! what if i could have blinded by these stupid contact lens? What a scary thought! but funny thing is, normally the contact lens that people wear are very visible when you look into their eyeball, as you can see a circle covering the eyeball. But mine was not detectable when wearing it. Even the optometrist couldn't see the lens was indeed at the eyeball when she was searching for it.
So here's a thought. Maybe i'm not suitable to wear contact lens as my eyeballs are too big! But the optometrist didn't say that lah. She asked me to buy contact lens from her somemore. Anyway, for first time users, please do not use focus daily. The optometrist recommend to use Bausch and Lomb contact lens.
After all, i curbed my fear of poking contact lens into my eyes. That's what I've been challenging myself all this while. coz i'm the one who wants to try anything at least once in a lifetime. But because i'm not that suitable for it, I will never wear it again. And for the sake of my health. :)
